Overview

As an Associate within the Market Risk technology team, you will support and maintain critical production platforms used for market risk calculations, monitoring, and risk data flows. You will work closely with technology and risk partners to ensure platform stability, incident resolution, and controlled change delivery across distributed systems. Your role will focus on day-to-day operational support, automation, and system reliability within a regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support production Market Risk platforms across Unix-based environments, ensuring system availability and stability

  • Monitor applications and infrastructure using tools such as Geneos and Splunk, and respond to alerts and incidents

  • Perform incident, problem, and change management activities in line with ITIL processes

  • Develop and maintain automation and support scripts using Shell and Python Support data flows and integrations involving Oracle, PL/SQL, Hadoop/HMS, Kafka, and MQ

  • Partner with application and infrastructure teams to deliver controlled changes and platform improvements

Skills You’ll Need

  • Hands-on experience supporting Unix/Linux-based production environments

  • Practical experience with Python, Shell scripting, and basic automation

  • Experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL

  • Exposure to monitoring and scheduling tools such as Geneos, Control-M, and Splunk

  • Working knowledge of incident and change management within an ITIL-based support model

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Experience supporting distributed data platforms including Hadoop/HMS, Kafka, and MQ

  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments

  • Familiarity with Ansible, DWEB, or similar configuration and deployment tools

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Clear communication skills when working across technology and risk stakeholders

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,000 to 129,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
