Overview

Deutsche Bank is looking for an experienced, Director level Coverage Banker to join the Consumer and Healthcare Coverage team in New York. In this capacity, you will develop and cultivate strong client relationships across a portfolio of clients and coordinate with their global locations to win new business and deliver exemplary client service in a professional, ethical, and conscientious manner.

As a Global Coverage Banker, you will manage a portfolio of Consumer and Healthcare clients. You will be the first point of contact for Treasury and Finance teams of these clients and will become their trusted relationship manager, positioning Deutsche Bank as their preferred banking partner. You will manage profitability of client relationships, win new mandates for the bank globally and look to selectively expand your portfolio through the addition of new strategic client relationships. You are also not only expected to maintain your client portfolio but to win new business (active hunting), structure complex solutions, and above all, adhere to and comply with the Bank’s Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Financial Crime and Anti Money laundering (AML) policies.

What You’ll Do

  • Cover and advise Consumer and Healthcare Clients across the Corporate Bank product suite with a particular focus on Strategic Corporate Lending, Cash Management, Trade Finance & Lending, Trust & Agency Services, Securities Services and Foreign Exchange & Rates Hedging
  • Win new business and expand wallet share across portfolio of clients
  • Manage portfolio profitability metrics with responsibility for credit and capital approvals
  • Develop “Trusted Advisor” status with clients and contribute to building Deutsche Bank’s Consumer and Healthcare Coverage franchise and reputation in the market. Ensure close cooperation with Regional Relationship Management and product teams that Deutsche Bank is the provider of choice for clients and that all avenues for working with our global client base are actively coordinated in a logical manner
  • Ensure compliance to KYC and AML requirements in all dealings with existing and potential customers
  • Provide market expertise to the global coverage team to maximize sector penetration and ensure opportunities are undertaken in an efficient manner

How You’ll Lead

  • Responsible for growing wallet share and generating significant, sustainable revenue, recognizing revenue opportunities to cross-sell products for all areas of the Bank. Drive results against client plans for revenue generation, franchise transactions, alignment with product partners and customer satisfaction
  • Assist Regional Heads to form viable business strategies, implementation plans, as well as identifying issues, gaps, and process improvements through open communication
  • Guide and develop junior members of the team to accelerate their careers within coverage

Skills You’ll Need

  • Academic degree with strong credentials, preferably within Finance or Economics; Extensive experience within the financial sector, with relevant coverage experience
  • Extensive coverage banking experience
  • Knowledge of the Consumer and Healthcare sector and client base
  • Strong financial and credit fundamentals with formal credit training preferred; Strong quantitative, numerical, and analytical skills with Excel-based modeling experience
  • Understanding of KYC, AML, risk management and risk mitigation
  • Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 63 and 79 license

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $190,000 to $300,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
