Overview

You will join Deutsche Bank’s Market Risk Management team as a Market Risk Manager covering US Energy trading activities. In this role, you will work collaboratively with traders, risk partners and control teams to provide thoughtful, structured market risk oversight that supports sustainable business growth. What You’ll Do

  • Review trading exposures, valuations, new products and market activity across US Energy businesses, providing effective market risk oversight within approved risk appetite

  • Monitor daily exposures against limits, identify emerging risks, stress vulnerabilities and concentration themes, and escalate issues where required

  • Partner with Valuation Risk, Market Risk Analysis and Control, and Risk Methodology Strategy teams to maintain robust risk metrics, stress testing and reporting

  • Support the development and maintenance of control infrastructure, valuation processes and market risk methodologies for commodity portfolios

  • Contribute to new product approval, business change and ongoing enhancement of the risk framework supporting the US Energy platform

How You’ll Lead

  • Lead engagement with Front Office trading and Global Strategic Analytics stakeholders to define risk requirements and ensure appropriate capabilities are in place for new products and business expansion

  • Drive alignment across market risk, market data, methodology and reporting teams to ensure limits, metrics and governance frameworks remain fit for purpose for the US Energy business

  • Engage senior regional stakeholders, including senior management, governance forums and regulators where required, to support approvals, transparency and ongoing oversight of new activities

Skills You’ll Need

  • Proven experience in market risk management within an investment bank or global financial markets environment

  • Extensive knowledge of commodity markets and risk management frameworks, with essential expertise in US Power and Gas products and market dynamics

  • Ability to assess how financial and economic developments affect market behavior, exposures and risk positions

  • Experience working across Front Office, Control and Infrastructure teams in a regulated environment

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $222,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
