Details of the Division and Team:
Vietnam Branch Operations is looking for a Senior Officer in Loan Operations. This position is responsible for processing functions of Loan Operations which includes matters relating to credit products, loan documentation, input/control of credit limits, and liaising with other business units in connection with these tasks and is responsible for client servicing in respect of loan booking, accepting client orders, booking of funding from Treasury and processing of the Loans in Loan Booking system LS2.
The candidate must possess a functional knowledge of the daily loan operations process compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, reconciliations, and loan documents. This will include transfer of knowledge to team members. Demonstrate ability to complete assignments in a timely manner and ensure deal management processes remain efficient & cost effective within the bank’s established internal & external standards & guidelines.
Demonstrate the capability of promoting teamwork spirit within the department in ensuring process completeness and interact with professionals from other departments in ensuring the bank’s objectives are met.
Must be able to analyze data, recognize & respond to anomalies and the ability to evaluate & accurately document & escalate processing exceptions & root cause. Strong understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & operational risk is a must.

Your key responsibilities:
Risk Management and Control
Proactively identify operational risk and develop controls to manage and mitigate risk in partnership with the business.
Educates self about inherent operational risk to improve knowledge about industry standards, security and audit requirements. Escalates appropriately to manage risk.
Make recommendations for process improvement. Develop awareness of strategy, predict business changes, control challenges and drive strategic direction/solutions.
Prepare all exceptional items daily. Prepare and review Daily/Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly regional management reporting.
Documentation
Preparing, perfecting, safekeeping, reviewing of offer letters and security documents.
Reviewing loan supporting documents, loan applications
Reviewing legal documents and liaising with legal counsel (offer letters and security agreements) to ensure that such documents are in line with the recommendation of internal/external legal.
Updating of LS2, Scanning and saving documents into the electronic database (db-loandoc).
Credit Limits and Account Conditions Management
Input, amendment, cancellation of limits in IDMS in accordance with standard limit handling procedures.
Monitoring Function
Ensuring timely monitoring of covenants in accordance with regional procedures.
Ensuring cash-based credits are in compliance with guidelines and conduct collateral revaluation on a regular basis.
Monitoring compliance with local regulations related to loans, such as single/ group borrower limit, ceiling lending interest rate.
Tracking of customers audited financial statements.
Maintaining and updating the central customer database (TOTPORT, Group Client).
Ensuring that incomplete documents are properly tracked and followed up.
Ensure Daily LS2 reports for Operations control and Work in progress is monitored/reviewed, commented and signed off.
Ensuring that all overdue items are escalated to the business and the regional operations.
Daily review of K+/LS2 reconciliation for Cash and economics in MIS. Ensuring breaks are actioned and escalated.
Review of daily LS2 limit reconciliation and Ledger reconciliation. Resolution and escalation where necessary
Ensure daily transactions be processed within TAT
Ensure any complaints from internal/ external customers is handled, followed up and escalated accordingly
Loans Funding and Client Service
Delivering excellent client service by responding to client queries, providing rates to clients based on Cost of funds and agreed margins. Escalating issues to business immediately.
Booking loans funding in K+ system based on client dealings and Relationship Managers advice regarding loan amount, loan tenor and loan interest.
Reporting
Submission of regulatory reports to the State Bank of Vietnam, State Bank Inspector, Credit Information Center.
Preparing and submitting accurate daily/ monthly / quarterly / yearly/ ad hoc reports to Regional Management and Global Head Office/ SVB/ CIC.
Audit/Controls
Maintaining proper and sufficient audit trails.
Resolving any outstanding audit points without delay.
Ensuring compliance with Operational Risk Management, STARC, KOD.
Ensuring that there are no lapses or gaps in control
Cost Control
Maintain Cost Control in the approved budget.
Business Continuity Management (BCM)
Assisting BCM Co-Ordinator of the department in the review of Business Recovery Plans (BRP), Walkthrough and Testing.
Acting as alternate BCM coordinator.
Back-up Resource
Ensuring that adequate hand-over is given for back-up staff in order to have proper operational cover during staff annual leave.
Support business and product expansion if applicable.
Others
Any responsibilities or tasks that may be assigned.

Should possess professional qualifications.
Should communicate clearly, have good presentation skills.
Graduate, with minimum of 3 years of related experience
Have the capability of driving initiatives, projects, new developments.
Have a strong understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & operational risk, and related issues.
Self-driven and keen on change for better mindset.
Good competence in written and spoken English and Vietnamese communication skills.
Possess good interpersonal skills.
Strong skills in Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration.
