Responsibilities

Regional Management:


Coordinator and SME of BLAFC PB Europe International (EI: Luxembourg, UK, Switzerland)


This role is strategically critical for integrating AFC expertise across diverse Europe International markets and ensuring a cohesive risks framework.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Act as senior escalation point for cross-border KYC matters, critical Sanction and Screening escalations, NPA escalations, and any other areas of dispute before further escalation to Head of BLAFC Private Bank (excl. Germany), Regional Heads (if required).
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expertise (SME) and liaison for BLAFC PB EI on complex cross-border projects/framework (e.g., Russia Nexus/MSC Framework, shipping framework, coordination on S&E topics), ensuring optimal resource deployment and strategic staffing.
  • Collaborate with senior AFC Management across PB/EI to maintain a strong AFC risk framework; fostering coordination between local BLAFC PB EI and Regional AFC leadership.
  • Lead and orchestrate critical cross-border BLAFC PB EI Project initiatives, such as KYC Alignment Group (Switzerland, Lux and UK), PB Global Sanctions Policy Implementation.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to BLAFC employees, and supporting the Head of BLAFC Private Bank (excl. Germany) in people management within BLAFC PB EI function

This role is central to defining and executing the BLAFC PB function’s strategy, managing local team and providing direct support to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Define and evolve strategy for BLAFC PB function, ensuring adherence to DB policies and local requirements.
  • Manage the local BLAFC PB team, matrixed AFC employees, and implement effective BLAFC programs and procedures, in line with global/regional standards.
  • Manage the budget and resource allocation for counry BLAFC PB initiatives and projects, optimising operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage with Relationship Managers, BIU, FIU teams, PFoTe, DCOs, various functional teams on PB-related cases and cross-borders projects, participate in relevant local business fórums and committees (pre-CAF, CAF).
  • Conduct robust check and challenges regarding NCA/RR/EDR and other cases, conduct due diligence and financial crime investigations, manage highly complex or escalated client cases, providing expert advice and decisión-making.
  • Provide expect BLAFC support (if necessory) to other PB countries for KYC-related matters and investigations
  • Develop and deliver targeted training and contribute to local AFC policy development.
  • Drive continues improvement and innovation in AFC/BLAFC processes and controls, leveraging technology and best practice.

Skills

Leadership and Mentorship Skills: Ability to manage and develop local BLAFC teams, ensure efficient implementation of BLAFC programs and procedures.


Knowledge and Expertise: Possess extensive knowledge of AML& KYC, Sanctions and relevant regulatory framework applied in Luxembourg and in other European markets;


Communication skills: Efficiently liaise and collaborate with senior stakeholders, including local and regional management and internal AFC/Compliance and Business.


Analytical and Investigation skills: Conduct thorough investigations, check and challenge business cases, oversee due diligence processes.


Risk Assessment skills: ability to design, implement and maintain robust AFC risk frameworks and control environment


The successful candidate will be asked to present a recent criminal record.
