Job Title: Portfolio Management, Analyst

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Description

  • Loan Portfolio Management is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the risks within relationship lending portfolios, which include MNC, high yield and European mid-cap borrowers. Staff in these roles work closely with other parts of the organization including amongst others CRM, coverage, traders and securitization staff – to manage the concentration risks of these portfolios via the execution of hedging transactions. These include Collateralized Loan Obligation teams that focus on the ongoing replenishment of transactions. They are non-client facing (albeit senior portfolio managers may be invited to due diligence meetings with internal sales staff and investors during the closing of transactions). Additionally, staff in these roles may interface directly with the Bank’s global regulators to detail their underlying processes

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, validation, and analysis of performance metrics, management reports, and dashboards used for financial and business decision-making

  • Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting processes, including data reconciliation, variance analysis, and investigation of data anomalies

  • Partner with cross-functional teams

  • Define and refine Key Performance Indicators/Key Risk Indicators

  • Understand data sources and business logic

  • Ensure alignment with reporting standards and business objectives

  • Develop and enhance automated reporting solutions using tools such as Excel, Tableau, and other Power BI platforms

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Provide actionable insights to senior management through clear and concise reporting. Support ad-hoc analysis, issue remediation, and special projects as needed

  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and control procedures to support transparency and auditability

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field

  • Proficient experience in banking or financial services, with exposure to analytics or reporting

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, basic macros, formulas) and Tableau (dashboard creation, data visualization)

  • Familiarity with Structured Query Language or data querying tools is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data in a clear, actionable manner
