Occupational Summary

Provide leadership for Supply Chain and Procurement Operations and Enterprise-wide Programs across the University and Health System.

Work Performed

  • Provide Human Resource leadership to Supply Chain organization inclusive of recruitment strategy, new hire orientation, performance management and communication/interpretation of HR policies and procedures. Serve as liaison with DUHS and DU Corporate HR for Supply Chain and Procurement employees.
  • Determine fiscal requirements for Procurement and Supply Chain budgets and financials develop and monitor budgets for Supply Chain and Procurement Services.
  • Lead the Strategic Sourcing, Margin Improvement, and Physician Governance programs and direct Span of control over all certain Physician Preference contracts utilized within Duke University Health System Inc.
  • Has leadership and Supervisory responsibilities for all onsite and offsite Sourcing personnel, including Directors, Managers and Analyst, supporting Sourcing programs.
  • Assist in identifying vendor partners that have Diversity and Environmental Sustainability Purchasing programs in support of the Duke University and Duke University Health System initiatives.
  • Plans and conducts meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, implement new policies, and keep employees abreast of current changes and standards related to the Procurement programs listed above.
  • Provide back up to and represents Associate Vice President, Supply Chain, for Duke University and Duke University Health System at senior level meetings and city and statewide events that support supplier diversity and other community relationships.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Requires a bachelor's degree


Experience:

Minimum of ten years in progressively responsible positions including supervision and program leadership. Experience in an academic, medical setting highly preferred.


Skills:

Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Access, Excel, Power Point, Word), Visio, and knowledge of Supply Chain Management Systems.
