Position Summary
The Sr. Manager, IT - Data Analytics is responsible for providing data analytics subject matter expertise and leadership to the DCRI. This role will require that they work closely with key stakeholders, collect requirements, and produce deliverables in the form of business intelligence reports, dashboards, or raw datasets that will be used to drive business decisions. This manager will develop data visualization and insights service offerings, demonstrate thought leadership, manage complex projects, build client relationships, recruit and mentor staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new IT services. The role will help to achieve the growth and use of data analytics and insights at the DCRI, meet project objectives, leverage AI and new technologies, and maintain best practices.
As a member of the DCRI management team, this manager will join IT professionals with a broad knowledge of the healthcare industry including regulatory reporting and compliance. The manager will be part of a collaborative IT service delivery team intent on providing exceptional client service to meet overall DCRI objectives.

Position Responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership, guidance and direction for data analytics and insights capabilities for the DCRI; this typically includes data engineering/data pipelines, data modeling and data visualizations using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Lead efforts in data mining and analytics in support of data analytic efforts and projects for the organization; continually look for opportunities to diversify and draw from multiple disparate data sources, both structured and unstructured
- Recommend and apply methodologies and data analytic techniques appropriate to address business issues; Democratize data by promoting self-service reports/visualizations.
- Identify and apply data analytics, AI tools and Machine Learning (ML) techniques and models to perform data analyses
- Work in a consultative capacity to understand information needs, establish timelines, and establish deliverables
- Research, collect and analyze internal business data to inform leadership and key stakeholders in driving business decisions
- Analyze findings; identify patterns and formulate insights using various visualization tools for dissemination to business decision-makers
- Prepare and develop reports, presentations and other documents for communicating findings to business owners, collaborators and management.
- Balance multiple project timeliness; maintain overall quality across multiple projects and consultations; complete ad hoc analytical requests within agreed upon time
- Work with internal stakeholders to enhance data analytics project outcomes.
- Assist with proposals and budget preparation
- Manage a team of Analytics - Visualization Developers and ensure best practices on data quality and data integrity are being followed.

Education and Experience
BA or BS in computer science, mathematics or an Information Technology-related field and 8 or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience as an Analytics Manager or Lead Data Scientist. Three (3) years of experience in managing people and supervisory experience required.
Skills, Training and Certifications
- Demonstration of healthcare business intelligence thought leadership a plus (white papers/articles, speaking experience)
- Top performer and role model in delivering exceptional client service in the healthcare industry
- Solid experience in data analysis and reporting
- Experience in working with cloud technologies and Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Fabric, DevOps, etc) would be a plus.
- Working knowledge with query, extract, transformation and load (ETL) using Microsoft Azure Synapse, Fabric from common database platforms (SQL Server, No SQL, Postgres, Cosmos, etc) required
- Advanced proficiency with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience in healthcare business data management, business intelligence or IT consulting
- Experience in healthcare business intelligence (experience with CRO/Academic CRO preferred), data modeling/data management, data warehouse/data mart; familiarity with EHR and other clinical datasets and standards (CDISC, SDTM, FHIR, etc) would be a plus.
- Implementation experience and certification with top tier business intelligence platforms experience a plus
- Proven success in IT project management; experience managing IT projects across full systems development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodology; Familiarity with Atlassian tools would be a plus.
- Must be able to motivate and lead team from the strategic decision making down to the project planning levels
- An influential leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with applying machine learning techniques and models on prepared data to extract insights. Successful track record of defining requirements, developing system design and architecture, system configuration, testing and deployment
