Job Description
We are seeking a full-time, in-person, staff scientist to:
-assist in the development of a human biorepository of genomic DNA and tissue samples
- assist in genomic sequencing in research subjects
- assist in cell culture work to translate findings into cell models of disease
- assist in mouse husbandry and experimentation
- assist in other administrative duties in the lab, such as ordering and safety work
Other aspects of the job include:
- establish/optimize work procedures and experimental protocols
- evaluate and interpret collected data under the guidance of the principal investigator
- help in the preparation of oral presentations and/or written reports for meetings, manuscripts, and grants.
- Participate in the recruitment of Human Subjects for Clinical research trials.
Job Skill Requirements:
- 1 year of wet- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as DNA purification, gel electrophoresis, PCR
- Familiarity with working with human samples and protected health information
- Willingness to work with mice for both husbandry and experimentation
- Willingness to do cell culture work with mammalian and non-embryonic stem cells lab experience
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work generally requiresa bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
