Job Summary
This position reports to the Office Products Manager, Duke Stores. The Accounting Specialist performs various tasks, assisting the Manager in administering the program that provides office automation equipment and services to the University and Health System (hospital, clinics, etc.) throughout Durham and the surrounding communities.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of complex accounting tasks involved in the proper maintenance of financial records and procedures. Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports as needed by the Manager, General Manager, or upper administration.
Schedule and coordinate monthly equipment meter collection from equipment in the field via online remote collection software, and physical onsite collection by vendor personnel. Import meter data into the account management program, Multiple Office Systems Tracker (MOST). Manage copy card requests and distribution to customers. Upload billing information into SAP each billing cycle.
Reconcile and process vendor invoices for submittal to Accounts Payable.
Enter sales into the cash register and prepare close-out at the end of the month.
Assist and back up the Front/Help Desk during breaks, vacation, etc. Handle customer requests and place service calls to vendors.
Order supplies as need ed, including paper and supplies for walkup (public) copier locations, and general administrative supplies for the office.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $19.41 to USD $30.03. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Education
Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical, research and communications principles normally acquired through two years of postsecondary education.
Experience
Work generally requires four years of clerical or research experience to acquire strong skills in administrative or project research responsibilities as well as accepted office management, communications and research practices. A bachelor's degree in a field of study directly related to the specific position may be substituted for the education and two years of the experience requirement.
