Join Duke University Health System as a Project Manager for Nursing and Patient Care Services and be at the forefront of driving innovation and transformational change across the system. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

  • Manages multiple projects throughout project life cycle (initiation “discovery” through closing)
  • Develops and manages project schedules; analyzes schedule to identify critical path and measure project progress.
  • Collaborate with executive sponsors to develop weekly team meeting agendas.
  • Facilitate project meetings to drive deliverables.
  • Document meeting notes and decisions to ensure clear communication and accountability.
  • Manages risk, identifies potential risks, and communicates with project leadership to establish mitigation plans to eliminate or reduce risk factors.
  • Monitors and measures the health of the project indicator to facilitate escalations or competing interests to assist in driving resolutions.
  • Drive the project team members to meet milestones and high quality, on time deliverables.
  • Support analysis of time study and pre- and post-implementation data as it relates to care model decision support.
  • Ensure workflows are documented using another project management appropriate tools.
  • Emphasize key touchpoints and communication channels within workflows.
  • Partner with the co-chairs to design a change management strategy for piloting the new care models or innovations.
  • Collaborate with communications teams, nursing teams, and nursing leadership to keep staff informed and engaged throughout the pilots, facilitating regular updates and success stories.
  • Develop and drive comprehensive communications plans to ensure alignment and transparency across all stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

  • Work requires the ability to plan and deliver on project objectives and to direct team activities towards strategic goals, generally acquired through four years of related experience or any other equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Five or more years of professional experience managing complex deliverables and coordinating the activities of diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Project management experience.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
