What You’ll Do:
- Manage daily communications responsibilities for assigned Duke Athletics programs
- Produce media guides, game notes, news releases, and feature stories
- Create feature content and original coverage for GoDuke.com, the official website of Duke Athletics
- Respond to media inquiries and support proactive media outreach
- Staff home events and selected away competitions
- Supervise statistical crews and other event support personnel
- Participate in assigned sports’ creative working groups
- Compile and manage statistics, including researching historical records for Athletics publications
- Support the broader communications staff with additional departmental needs as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and NCAA Live Stats
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Two years of experience in media relations, communications, public relations, or a related field supporting sports information activities

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work generally requires one year experience in advertising, marketing, media, promotions, public relations or a related field to acquire skills necessary to implement a variety of sports information activities. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
