Duke University Medical Center’s APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology Doctoral Internship Training Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences: Training takes place within the context and spirit of the scientist-practitioner and clinical scientist models with the overarching aim to produce a Clinical Psychologist who is able to demonstrate all Profession-wide competencies and thrive in a variety of academic and health care settings. A second aim of the program is to help Interns explore and develop areas of concentration that prepares them for early career development in Research, Clinical work, and/or Education. A central vision of the Duke Internship Program is to provide both the breadth to ensure core competenc ies while giving opportunities to pursue depth into a specific concentration of Clinical Psychology.

Minimum Requirements:

The program offers internship training to students who are currently enrolled in an APA-approved Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology and who have already completed three years of graduate study. Successful completion of all required course work toward PhD

Position Description:

The internship affords the opportunity to integrate the multiple roles and responsibilities of a clinical psychologist in a health-care setting. Interns learn through a number of diverse clinical experiences. All interns participate in weekly core seminars designed to expose them to both basic and advanced concepts in clinical practice, including individual and cultural diversity, ethics and professionalism, and theories and methods of supervision.
