DESCRIPTION

Eastdil Secured is seeking a financial accountant to join their London office to replace the existing financial accountant and to continue to support the Company’s expansion internationally. This individual will work closely with and report to the financial controller in the UK to oversee and manage the company’s growing international finance and reporting requirements. The role will suit a bright and motivated NQ accountant looking for their first move in-house in a broad and hands-on accounting role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for supporting the financial controller with all accounting matters in EMEA and APAC. This includes preparation of management accounts, corporate accounts, invoicing, accounts payable, expense reporting, regulatory returns, VAT returns, tax returns, etc.
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing VAT returns in various international locations, including working knowledge of partial exemption VAT calculations.
  • Prepare UK and international statutory accounts, including small group consolidated accounts in Ireland.
  • Manage the accounts receivable process, including drafting client invoices, monitoring and managing the payment of invoices, coordinating efforts with the US accounting team, and ensuring accurate revenue reporting is in line with the Company’s policies.
  • Ensure intercompany balances are reviewed and cleared on a regular basis.
  • Ensure payments and related journal entries are completed and communicated properly.
  • Work with third party service providers who handle accounting operations in various countries.
  • Provide information and draft reporting as necessary for local and U.S. audit and tax firms.
  • Maintain accurate records and help prepare internal and statutory reports where necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered accountant (ICAEW or ICAS).
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • 0-2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proficient in IFRS and UK GAAP and experience in US GAAP.
  • Ability to work independently, with entrepreneurial mindset essential.
  • In-house experience will be of interest though not essential.
  • Experience of working in international accounting and foreign currencies desirable.
  • Experience using NetSuite, Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Client service mindset and excellent interpersonal skills.
