This role will lead the I&E technician team, driving continuous improvement initiatives and day-to-day work to completion. This role will also perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, monthly safety checks, make repairs and modifications to equipment and repair the facility as needed.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of I&E technicians, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation, control systems (DCS DELTAV, PLC, etc.), and electrical distribution equipment.

  • Perform routine calibration and testing of instruments such as flow meters, pressure sensors, temperature transmitters, and level devices, etc. as needed

  • Diagnose complex electrical and instrumentation issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.

  • Manage and prioritize I&E work orders, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion of tasks.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams on new installations, upgrades, and modifications to I&E systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

  • Oversee calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of a wide range of process instrumentation, including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and safety interlocks.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, ISA, NFPA).

  • Manage I&E spare parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships.

  • Develop and deliver training to I&E technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Participate in incident investigations and provide technical expertise for resolution and prevention.

  • Prepare and manage I&E maintenance budgets and control expenditures.

Position Details:

  • Plant location: Fresno, TX

  • Work week and shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of instrumentation and electrical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment (i.e. chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation)

  • 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing I&E technicians

  • Experience with CMMS (SAP, EMaint, or other CMMS systems)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years experience preferred

  • Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on maintenance/ instrumentation

  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems including DCS and PLC (Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell, Emerson)

  • Extensive experience with various process instrumentation, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, pH, conductivity, analytical devices, and automated/control valves.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, motor control, and VFDs

  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E, and other industry standards and best practices

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schemes, logic diagrams, and control narratives

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $85,900.00 - $128,900.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
