Sustainability & Data Program Specialist

The Sustainability & Data Program Specialist is responsible for owning and executing the operational backbone of the Supply Chain Sustainability program. This role ensures that sustainability platforms, data flows, invoices, audits, reporting, and technology deployments are accurate, automated where possible, on time, and audit‑ready.
This position is highly execution‑focused and serves as a point of accountability for Sedex/SMETA management, Schneider Electric (Resource Advisor) invoice collection, sustainability data automation, executive‑level materials, technology and equipment tracking, and cross‑functional program delivery.
The ideal candidate is structured, systems‑oriented, and comfortable working across Sustainability, Finance, IT, Quality, and site teams to turn complex programs into repeatable, scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities
Sedex / SMETA Program Ownership
- Own Ecolab’s Sedex site administration, including SAQ completion tracking, site setup, and customer connectivity.
- Coordinate and track SMETA audit scheduling, documentation, corrective actions, and customer deliverables.
- Develop and manage a program to understand areas of improvement for the organization
Schneider Electric (Resource Advisor) Invoice Management
- Own invoice collection, validation, and tracking for Schneider Electric / Resource Advisor across sites.
- Partner with regional leaders and sites to resolve missing, incorrect, or late invoices.
- Develop standardized processes and tracking tools to improve invoice cycle time and data quality.
Data Automation & Systems Enablement
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for sustainability data flows, reporting, and validation.
- Partner with IT, Analytics, and external vendors to streamline data ingestion, QA/QC, and dashboards.
- Reduce manual data handling through repeatable processes and system integrations.
- Maintain documentation of data flows, ownership, and system dependencies.
Executive & Program Reporting
- Build and maintain clear, executive‑ready PowerPoint materials for leadership updates, customer requests, and Steering Committees.
- Translate complex datasets into concise narratives, visuals, and action‑oriented insights.
- Maintain standardized templates and reporting cadence across sustainability programs.
Technology & Program Tracking
- Track deployment, adoption, and performance of sustainability‑related technologies (shared maintenance and engineering equipment)
- Maintain a centralized view of program milestones, risks, dependencies, and actions.
- Drive follow‑ups and closure of open actions across cross‑functional teams.
- Support pilot programs and scale successful solutions across the network.
Project Execution & Governance
- Lead sustainability‑related projects from intake through execution and close‑out.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and accountability models.
- Ensure deliverables align with customer, regulatory, and internal commitments.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying gaps and proposing practical solutions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Analytics, Business, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in project management, operations, data management, or systems enablement.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and automation tools; comfort working with large datasets.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and functional teams.
- Highly organized with strong follow‑through and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience with Sedex / SMETA audits, Resource Advisor, or sustainability reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with invoice workflows, financial tracking, or vendor management.
- Experience supporting enterprise programs in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Exposure to automation tools, dashboards, or data visualization (Power BI, Power Apps, APIs).
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
