Ecolab is seeking a Lead Specifications Analyst to join its Global High Tech (GHT) team based out of our Naperville, IL office. This candidate will primarily be responsible for applying mechanical engineering and project management experience to drive and execute high impact-cost optimization and resilience projects, as well as creating specifications for components and complex assemblies as part of the GHT team. The driven individual will collaborate with R&D Teams, Supply Chain, Procurement, Regulatory Compliance, and Supplier Quality. They will coordinate, drive, and execute new supplier approvals, substitution and consolidation projects to enable growth, cost optimization, and security of supply. Successful candidates will possess strong collaboration and teamwork skills, be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and be a creative problem solver.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as engineering technical expert for the alternate supplier qualifications including specification analysis, commercial impacts, conducting initial impact assessment from the relevant technical aspects, SME coordination and approvals.

  • Lead Operational Innovation (OI) project management for new supplier approvals, substitution and consolidation projects to enable growth, cost optimization, and security of supply.

  • Effectively communicate requirements and timelines to internal stakeholders for the implementation of OI projects.

  • Liaison between Procurement and the engineering teams to find new opportunities and support tight material issues that arise.

  • Collaborate effectively with global OI teams and other key functions including RDE, regulatory, procurement, supply chain and marketing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline with 6 years of experience working in research, development, engineering or supply chain related environment; or Masters’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline with 4 years of experience working in research, development, engineering or supply chain related environment

  • Experience creating 3D models and associated 2D drawing prints and specifications.

  • Experience authoring engineering change requests to create or change specifications.

  • Project management experience

  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills are essential

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Self-starter with strong initiative and personal accountability

  • Naturally curious and willing to learn and adapt to new fast-changing technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with equipment design, creating and managing equipment specifications and manufacturing design transfer

  • Experience with regulatory agency compliance and requirements, especially UL

  • Proficient in SolidWorks

  • Proficient with SAP

  • PMP/PMI certification

  • Lean Six Sigma certification

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $96,700.00 - $145,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
