This Senior Collection Specialist position provides essential support to all divisions and legal entities aligned with Global Business Services in Europe. The role is responsible for providing reporting, portfolio analytics, and leadership support to the European Collections organization. The position drives improvements in key account collection processes to maximize cash flow and manage complex key accounts. Additionally, it involves designing, configuring, and maintaining the Ecolab’s Collections system and providing training on key account collection strategies to team members and stakeholders.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Leadership and Support: Provide leadership and resolution support to collections specialist regarding complex key account issues.

  • System Management: Design, support configuration and maintenance of Ecolab’s Collections system, ensuring effective utilization and ongoing enhancements.

  • Portfolio Management: Manage a segment of complex key accounts and support the maintenance and enhancement of key account hierarchy and harmonization.

  • Training and Development: Support associate training by developing training materials and procedures regarding key account collection processes.

  • Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives to enhance collection efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Relationship Management: Establish strong working relationships with corporate account sales management teams (AVP’s/CAM’s/AM’s) and internal/external customer contacts.

  • System Enhancements: React quickly to challenges by supporting ongoing system enhancements.

  • Productivity and Service: Suggest procedural changes to improve productivity and service, utilizing knowledge of multiple credit systems and divisional programs.

  • Desktop Procedures: Develop or enhance desktop procedures for the collection team and drive compliance.

  • Special Projects: Assist the Collections Senior Manager Europe with team management, training, and special projects.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Manage special division reporting requiring collection input around specific key account customer segments and work closely with the Collections Reporting Team to develop or enhance reports and analysis around key account AR portfolio.

  • Coaching and Training: Coach and train collections specialists on key account collection strategies and divisional programs.

  • Leadership: May provide leadership or manage a segment of complex key account customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel Access), proficiency with enterprise technologies

  • Experience: Min 3 Years of Credit/collections experience and/or customer service experience related to large corporate customers as well as with high-volume and multi-platform environments

  • Ideally Experience with process migration and centralization

  • Financial Analysis: Proficient in analysing financial data.

  • Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risk in your account portfolio as well as the ability to manage and mitigate these risks

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills in English; other European languages would be an advantage

  • Initiative and Independence: Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.

  • Detail-Oriented: Self-motivated and both detail and process-oriented.

  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Excellent problem-solving abilities and Experience with continuous improvement methods, ideally trained and certified in Problem Solving Methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)

  • Time Management: Effective time management skills

  • Customer Service: Strong (external and internal) customer orientation

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
