Collection Specialist with English

The Collection Specialist with English position provides essential support to all divisions and legal entities aligned with Global Business Services in Europe.
The Collection Specialist with English is responsible for executing and driving initiatives to reduce overdue balances, providing reporting, portfolio analytics for their assigned customer portfolios, as well for leadership support to the European Collections Senior Manager and the Collections Specialist’s Supervisor.
Responsibilities also include maintaining and developing sound credit policies and processes to ensure prompt, efficient collection of accounts receivable and minimization of bad debt losses. This role will serve as a strategic credit business partner for Sales, Finance Leadership, and the Collection Manager.
What Will You Do:
- Proactively chase for payments through phone calls.
- Document and Change the status of accounts, handle referrals, and transfer funds on accounts.
- Chase for remit for payments received and provide copy documents.
- Initiate write-off requests following approval policy.
- Identify, resolve and escalate queries as necessary.
- Support clearing cash accounts by transferring funds as needed.
- Request credit notes and coordinate with billing resources.
- Manage refunds for overpayments and credit balances.
- Maintain high standards of system operation and data quality.
- Produce reports as required and provide collection-related reporting to Ecolab’s sales organization.
- Provide forecasts and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve account issues driving payment delays.
- Participate in projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Ecolab’s credit management processes.
- Actively support and manage controls and compliance with SOX defined processes.
What You Will Need:
- Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
- Min. 1 year of credit/collections experience and/or customer service experience related to large corporate customers as well as with high-volume and multi-platform environments,
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English,
- Proficient in analysing financial data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, proficiency with enterprise technologies such SAP, SAP FSCM and integrated CBC Software Solutions (e.g. FIS GetPaid, HighRadius, SideTrade)
- Ability to identify potential risk in your account portfolio as well as the ability to manage and mitigate these risks
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
- Self-motivated and both detail and process-oriented.
- Experience working in a shared services environment.
