Job Description

As the Excitation Specialist your responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and innovative thinking in a wide range of power plant fundamentals. Part of the Emerson Electrical Group, with responsibilities for sales team technical support for Emerson power projects and a good business understanding and effective dealings with internal and external customers. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Application and integration of excitation subsystem components such as crowbar, de-excitation, field flashing, power conversion bridges, voltage regulator controller, generator electrical protection into a fully functional excitation/voltage regulator and protection system.
  • Perform factory acceptance testing to meet customer specifications.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform walk downs, maintenance, installations, site acceptance testing and commissioning activities.
  • Responsibility for acquiring test equipment for project needs.
  • Team leadership and supervisory skills, as well as progressive field service responsibility.
  • Have knowledge of the entire project including scope, schedule, hours of work, cost, and delivery

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Proven experience with excitation systems, control equipment design and electrical power systems protection.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and drive for results.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office), AutoCAD, EPLAN, E3 knowledge and experience.
  • Willing to travel up to 60%.
