The Sales Development Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of NI T&M talent as we expand our Sales Development program to new capabilities. In this role, your coaching will help shape the trajectory of our new talent and experienced Sales Development Engineers (SDEs) as you instill sales and technical standards. Your investment will shape the culture of high-performing, enthusiastic, ambitious engineers and create an environment where a diverse set of high achievers can thrive.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Coaching and mentorship ; providing an ongoing coaching cadence to the SDE team to refine skills and achieve targets
- Fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging team members share expertise and continue to grow professionally
- Enabling connection to the larger NI T&M organization including sales, applications engineers, customer operations, technical support, field marketing, and product marketing
- Supporting the creation and implementation of individual business plans, aligned to the region’s Account Plans
- Facilitating technical growth around product, solution, and business units
- Maintaining productive handshake with the marketing organization around overall lead performance and improvements
- Ideating and creating process improvements for acceleration of business creation, knowledge, SDE engagement, or other improvements
- Building trust with employees and supporting as career guide for the next step after SDE
- Building university relationships, identifying new SDEs, and hiring the next superstars for NI T&M
- You have a track record of hitting sales quotas through intentional business planning and execution
- You can be seen coaching others around you – others on your team do better because you’re part of the team
- You seek continuous improvement in your customer outreach and thrive in developing new prospecting strategies
- You build customer focused teams and prioritize customer interactions and outcomes
- You regularly seek and share feedback that provides a competitive edge and celebrate important customer wins
- You consistently recruit and retain top talent
- You love diving into the technical details of a customer problem to ensure you are providing the right solution
- You can manage multiple inputs and enable groups to reach collaborative, successful outcome
- 3+ years of sales or sales management experience at National Instruments or a comparable test and measurement company
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree or 6+ years equivalent technical experience
- Strong English language mastery and technical communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and desire to support the development of others
- Ability to identify SDE team needs and autonomously create a plan to solve challenges
- Live in or relocate to Austin, TX
- Experience coaching new sellers
- Experience using T&M tools like LabVIEW, PXI, or CompactDAQ
- SFDC CRM mastery
- Knowledge of marketing and lead management processes
- Knowledge of sales reporting and metrics
- Ability to communicate sophisticated information to engineers and non-engineers
- Experience in university recruiting and onboarding
- Experience working with global teams
