If you are a CNC Setup Operator looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Emerson Discrete Automation has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Sandusky, MI, you will set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
Typical working schedule Monday – Thursday 4:30p.m. to 3:00a.m. (4x10’s) to include scheduled overtime on Friday’s and some weekends.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Precision machine set-up and operation.
- Manufactures enough quality products at or below budgeted production costs to meet demand.
- Sets up and operate CNC and other related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
- Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling tapping, turning, milling and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assembly from raw materials.
- Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
- Resolves issues related to the production, machinery, and processing.
- Tests and calibrates components and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
- Observe established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly correct and / or notify supervisor of any hazardous situations.
- All supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non-essential requirements as assigned.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- High school diploma/GED
- A minimum of 1 year of related experience or demonstrated mechanical / machinist / or tooling experience.
- CNC set up experience or demonstrated proficiency with related machine set-up, tooling, comprehension of blueprints and set-up sheets.
- Willingness and ability to work required schedule.
- Successful completion of the ASCO Numatics CNC Training Program.
- Ability to produce a quality part at a productive rate while working in a fast-paced environment.
- While performing, duties may be required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist or lift.
- Willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing machinery environment with conditions and elements including but not limited to high noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease, chemical products, hand tools.
- Must wear proper PPE required for the role, to include safety glasses, hand gloves, ear plugs and steel toe safety shoes.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
