Job Description

The Indirect Material Manager is responsible for developing and implementing regional EMEA sourcing strategies to deliver superior, high-quality, and cost-effective products. In this role, you will optimize the supplier base, minimize risks, and ensure alignment with MSOL Commodity strategies. Working within a highly matrixed organization, you will collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams to implement spend strategies that influence sites and suppliers.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Establish and reinforce a safe work environment;
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing sites in Europe and the Middle East/Africa regions;
  • Identify, research, and implement new materials and manufacturing technologies;
  • Conduct industry and competitor analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance the company’s competitive position;
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures;
  • Develop and implement cost-reduction programs and sourcing plans for assigned commodities;
  • Establish supply base strategies that align with MSOL and Emerson business objectives;
  • Implement commodity management strategies to meet goals for quality, cost, and flexibility;
  • Leverage opportunities for regionalization to drive cost efficiencies;
  • Maintain effective cooperation across cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with organizational goals;
  • Actively contribute to supplier development to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.

Who You Are:

You excel at building supplier relationships, driving cost optimization, and leading initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations. You possess strong analytical and negotiation skills, thrive under pressure, and adapt to changing environments with ease.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A degree in Engineering or Business (preferred);
  • 7–10 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, or related fields;
  • Experience in an international procurement environment (preferred);
  • Fluency in English;
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and success in high-pressure scenarios;
  • Availability for domestic/international travel (approximately 15%);

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Advanced proficiency in sourcing and procurement systems;
  • Experience leading supplier development initiatives or driving innovative cost-reduction strategies;
  • Proven track record in collaborating with cross-functional and multicultural teams;
  • Familiarity with international regulations and compliance related to procurement activities;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
