Job Description
If you are a Mechanical Engineering student looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern based in our Boulder, CO location, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining instrumentation.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Use analytical skills, reasoning, and engineering judgment to develop new and innovative products and technologies
- Design components including injection molded plastics, die and investment castings, stampings, machined parts, etc.
- Collaborate with global, cross-functional project teams to ensure new designs meet internal requirements and industry standards
- Support prototype construction, laboratory testing, and agency testing during the product design cycle
- Apply sound engineering practices to solve quality issues
- Provide continuation engineering support for existing products
- Interact with software, electrical, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain, sales, and customers on technical matters
- Identify and implement product and process cost reductions and improvements

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university
- Pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering or Science
- Zero (0) years of related experience
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person for the duration of the internship.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. No sponsorship will be provided.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $26.00 an hour, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
