Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Firmware Development Manager to lead the development of embedded software for our industrial automation instrument product portfolio. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment and is passionate about delivering robust, scalable firmware solutions for critically important automation systems.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor a team of firmware engineers passionate about industrial automation solutions.
- Promote a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and career development initiatives.
Technical Oversight
- Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of embedded firmware, Device Description (DD), and embedded webservers.
- Ensure firmware meets performance, reliability, and safety standards required in industrial environments.
- Be responsible for integration with hardware platforms and industrial protocols (e.g., HART, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
Project & Process Management
- Manage firmware development lifecycle including planning, execution, testing, and release.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and product teams to align on requirements and deliverables.
- Implement Agile development practices and maintain high standards for code quality and documentation.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure firmware aligns with relevant industrial standards (e.g., IEC 62443, IEC 61508).
- Champion automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control guidelines.
- Support product certification and validation efforts.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related experience.
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in embedded firmware development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with DevOps tools and embedded CI/CD workflows.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with industrial automation hardware and protocols.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial embedded systems.
- Familiarity with safety-critical firmware development and regulatory compliance.
