Internship: Characterization of digital RF Transceivers
Job Description
Modern RF architectures must be space-saving, energy-efficient, and extremely flexible. They are increasingly being implemented with very broadband analog / digital converters to replace previous analog RF functions such as filters or mixers - or to replicate them digitally. In this project, methods and measurement systems are being developed to precisely measure their characteristics and derive suitable RF transceiver models.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Setup RF/Mixed-Signal measurement systems for analog/digital converters
- Develop new measurement procedures for mixed-signal characterization
- Build classic or ML-based models for RF transceivers
- Implement scripts in Python or LabVIEW
Who You Are:
- You are passionate about wireless technology and like to learn and work with the latest test and measurement techniques and equipment.
- You can manage your time well and reach out to mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks.
- You work effectively in a group environment, problem-solve, and diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.
For this Role, You Will Need:
- Ongoing academic studies in Electrical Engineering, Information System Technology, or comparable field of studies (from 4th semester)
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., LabVIEW, C/C++, or Python)
- Basic knowledge in signal processing and RF/wireless communications
- Good command of spoken and written English and/or German
- Availability for 4 to 6 months starting in April 2026
- This internship must be a mandatory part of your studies
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Experience in the practical use of measurement instruments (e.g., Signal Analyzer, VNA, oscilloscope)
- Interest in RF / Mixed-Signal measurement systems
- Analytical thinking and a high degree of initiative
- Mastery of a broad toolset for programming, debugging and analytics (e.g., Python with Plotly and Pandas, VS Code, Excel)
Our Offer to You:
We attach great importance to your development, so we want to make sure that you not only find a challenging job with us, but also a workplace that is supportive and rewarding. You'll receive structured onboarding as well as dedicated support from professional mentors.
Practical expertise imparted:
Opportunity to work with the latest measurement techniques and equipment
Experience in improving technology day by day
Get insight into how day-to-day business looks like for an engineer
Work in an international R&D team
In addition, you can expect a variety of attractive employee benefits:
- Fair compensation
- Flexible working hours
- Team events and free drinks, fruits, and veggies
We are committed to providing an inclusive, open, and welcoming workplace environment for people, helping all to make the most of their professional potential.
