Engineering Section Manager

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Engineering Section Manager to lead Hardware research and development efforts in the Mixed Signal and Platform Product Areas. The role will require you to coordinate execution, build strong relationships across functions, manage people, and mitigate risks and challenges that arise. Successful candidates must have demonstrated success driving technical projects and initiatives in an R&D organization. They must possess a high degree of initiative, be able to command and facilitate groups, and have clear, concise communication skills to drive alignment and decision making.

Core Job Duties:
- Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and team members to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
- Collaborate across multiple cross-functional technical teams (R&D, Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering) to define project goals, identify risks, and make technical tradeoffs
- Provide strong analytical thinking for existing business and technical problems, working with stakeholders to clearly identify requirements to enable capabilities.
- Effectively communicate program/project status, tradeoffs, risks, and changes to stakeholders including, but not limited to, senior executive management
- Responsible for the strategic direction and execution results of multiple teams, ensuring program goals are reached, managing budget and funding channels for maximum productivity
- Coach and mentor experienced staff and people managers.
- Develop and execute right-sized change management plans to prepare, equip, and support individuals through change
- Provide leadership in creating new processes and technologies aligned with strategic goals.
- Lead by example and foster a culture of adaptability and professional maturity.
- Build strong partnerships with internal & external stakeholders to drive adoption and deliver desired business outcomes
- Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement, maintains organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
- Drive the execution of transformational initiatives across Product R&D as a whole working with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts to coordinate delivery and realize value
Skills:
- Engineering Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electrical or Computer engineering, from an accredited college/university
- 10+ years of experience leading and building Hardware teams, and have previous experience in management or people leadership roles in product development
- A background in understanding the technologies, tools, and processes in development, testing and maintenance of hardware products
- Proven ability to develop leaders and manage change across teams.
- Strong decision-making skills for complex products and architecture.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to anticipate outcomes and implications in dynamic environments.
- High emotional intelligence and alignment with corporate vision and values.
- Superior problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience working with all levels across organization
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to collaborate with both local and remote sites
- Self-motivated and proactive and able to deal with ambiguity
