This position will be based at our Houston, TX facility and will provide EHS leadership and support for both the Houston and Stephenville, TX manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Houston Plant Manager, this role will ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Travel to Stephenville (up to 30%) will be required to support site EHS initiatives and ensure consistency across both locations.
AS AN EHS PROFESSIONAL, YOU WILL:
- Implement, execute, and ensure compliance with Emerson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures across both sites.
- Ensure all required company and regulatory reporting requirements are submitted accurately and on time.
- Partner with and develop site personnel at both locations to support effective implementation of EHS programs.
- Lead or assist in the management of workers’ compensation cases.
- Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulators) for both facilities.
- Lead management personnel in investigating incidents and unsafe conditions; identify immediate solutions, determine root causes, and track corrective actions to completion.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to drive success in Corporate EHS audits and assessments.
- Conduct regular safety observations and inspections at both sites to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Represent management in EHS meetings and facilitate collaboration between Houston and Stephenville teams.
- Facilitate and deliver EHS training for employees, supervisors, and new hires.
- Oversee industrial hygiene compliance and environmental program management with support from environmental consultants as needed.
- Stay current on changes to environmental and safety laws or regulations that may impact either site.
- Support the Quality Management System as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field, or a minimum of 3+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage EHS programs independently across multiple sites.
- Experience preparing for and succeeding in internal or external EHS audits.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 30% between Houston and Stephenville.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Experience managing recordable injuries in environments without an onsite nurse or doctor.
- Experience managing workers’ compensation cases.
- Exposure to Industrial Hygiene Programs with emphasis on silica standards and ergonomics.
- Behavioral-based safety background.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
