In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Supplier Management & Development

  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop cost-effective and technically optimized manufacturing solutions for electronic products.

  • Conduct technical evaluations of supplier capabilities and performance, focusing on SMT, PCBA, test, and assembly processes.

  • Lead improvement projects with suppliers to improve quality, throughput, and cost.

  • Collaborate with Commodity Managers to align supplier capability with long-term business needs.

  • Identify, evaluate, develop and qualify ECM to ensure a diverse and competitive supply base.

  • Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments to verify technical readiness.

  • Engage and lead supplier negotiations and problem-solving.

Design-to-Cost (DTC) & Manufacturability

  • Work with Engineering to ensure product designs align with supplier manufacturing capabilities.

  • Lead the DFM/DFX with supplier and feedback to Engineering for improved manufacturability and cost efficiency.

  • Support should-cost and cost breakdown analysis for electronic components and assemblies.

Technical & NPI Support

  • Provide technical support to suppliers throughout prototype, pilot, and mass production phases.

  • Support supplier process reviews, PFMEA, control plan, and build readiness verification.

  • Troubleshoot supplier process issues and coordinate problem-solving for NPD launches.

  • Participate in engineering builds to validate manufacturing readiness and cost targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, site and Commodity Manager to integrate supplier insights into sourcing and design decisions.

  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Analyst (NPI/NPD) on project schedule, BOM cost tracking, and supplier performance reporting.

  • Provide regular technical updates and cost recommendations to cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost reductions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and drive process optimization, automation, and lean manufacturing initiatives with suppliers.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging electronics manufacturing technologies.

  • Perform cost breakdown analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supplier capabilities.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering or related technical field.

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, electronic component sourcing experience or electronic manufacturing industries related job functions.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.

  • Experience with cost accounting and BOM management.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and procurement processes.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

The Electrical Engineer will work closely with Suppliers, Supply Chain Analyst, Commodity Manager and Engineering to achieve the best cost solution for Electronics Product designs. This role involves working with existing and searching for new Electronic Contract Manufacturing suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, and ensuring that the supplier meets the required specifications and quality standards. The Electronic Engineer will work with those suppliers and Engineering to optimize design and/or processes in order to get the best cost possible.
