If you are a Quality Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, this role offers a chance to lead customer and production quality, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams as part of our team in Bussero (Italy).

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will analyze and resolve customer claims, execute product and process audits, and guide New Product Introduction (NPI) quality controls. Your work will reduce nonconformities, mitigate risk, and elevate performance across the product lifecycle.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead customer quality by investigating claims, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) that prevent recurrence and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Execute product and process audits to proactively identify risks and drive preventive actions; support compliance to ISO 9001 and internal standards.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and operations leaders to establish and maintain the right quality levels across products and services.
  • Own quality control processes across the lifecycle, including FAI (First Article Inspection), NPI quality planning (risk analysis and mitigation plans: FMEA, DV/PV, Control Plans, Process Qualification), design changes, deviations, and product/process audits.
  • Promote reduction of internal nonconformities through structured problem solving and data-driven improvements.
  • Monitor and report KPIs, turning insights into action to improve yield, reduce cost of poor quality (CoPQ), and strengthen process capability.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation, sharing best practices and standardizing methods that reinforce Emerson’s safety and quality culture.

Who You Are:

You place customer needs at the center of decisions and deliver quality solutions that build long-term trust. You make timely, well-informed decisions using data, risk assessment, and structured methodologies, while taking ownership for outcomes and following through on commitments to internal and external stakeholders. You work effectively across functions and geographies, valuing diverse perspectives to reach better outcomes together. You share information clearly, listen actively, and tailor messages for your audience.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Practical experience delivering quality outcomes in a demanding environment (e.g., automotive, rail, aerospace, industrial). Typically 2+ years applying quality tools in production or engineering contexts.
  • Proficiency in quality methodologies: audit techniques, metrology, KPI monitoring, FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and related quality management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate clearly in English and Italian (written and spoken).
  • Hands-on understanding of common manufacturing technologies such as injection molding, mechanical tooling/machining, casting, stamping, and welding.
  • Strength in root cause analysis, risk assessment, and implementing preventive actions that improve safety, quality, and cost.

Note: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is desirable; we welcome candidates with equivalent skills gained through practical experience or vocational training.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience leading NPI quality planning (e.g., FMEA, DV/PV, Control Plans, Process Qualification) and managing design changes and deviations.
  • Familiarity with APQP/PPAP or similar structured product quality planning frameworks.
  • Certification or advanced training (e.g., ASQ CQE, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) or proficiency with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
  • Demonstrated success reducing CoPQ, improving process capability, and building audit programs that prevent defects.
  • Experience authoring or improving quality procedures and work instructions in alignment with ISO 9001.
  • Multilingual communication skills and experience working within global, cross-cultural teams.
