Job Summary
Senior Application Engineer position at Emerson Automation Solutions – Isolation Valves, responsible for supporting Isolation Valve and Actuation product opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Emerson has an extensive isolation valve portfolio comprised of Cryogenic & severe service Ball Valves, Triple Offset Butterfly valves, Knife Gate Valves, High Performance & Resilient seated butterfly valves, Ball valves for process industries. Emerson also has a comprehensive Actuation portfolio including Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electric and Electro Hydraulic actuators.
Primary purpose of the job is to be a focal support resource for our customers, partners and outside sales team for their Isolation Valve & Actuation enquiries. They will be responsible for working collaboratively with the outside sales team as a technical advisor and product expert. They must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all commercial and technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction
In this role, your responsibilities will be:
- Qualify customer requests for quotation to ensure that proposals meet the customer’s application and operational needs, with the authority to reject incomplete or non-compliant RFQs.
- Support and lead West region application engineers team to achieve strategic goals.
- Prepare customer quotations that are on time, technically accurate, commercially verified, offering the best all-round solution
- Convert MRO replacement enquiries into solution-selling opportunities by identifying customer requirements and proposing value-added solutions, with the authority to recommend technical alternatives.
- Maintain CRM data integrity for quotation records and win/loss analysis, with the authority to validate accuracy of entries.
- Work closely with factories & BDMs to maximize local quote capability and improve quote accuracy.
- Prepare quote in Oracle CPQ system and update CRM
- Work with order management team to provide a clean hand over of orders with supporting documents and attend kick off meetings if required.
- Achieve the KPIs set for the function like service levels (RDSL/PDSL) of quote response time & Hit Ratio.
- Adhere to local and international Emerson trade compliance procedures in connection with all transactions and business practices.
- Ensure compliance with Emerson’s Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant documented procedures during quotation, review, and order handover, with the authority to enforce adherence.
- Apply risk-based thinking by identifying risks in technical solutions or quotations, with the authority to propose and implement mitigation actions.
- Participate in continual improvement initiatives, including feedback from nonconformances or customer complaints.
- Maintain awareness of and adherence to product conformity standards, such as API 609, when preparing technical offers.
- Collaborate with the quality team during internal audits, process reviews, or corrective/preventive action investigations.
- Facilitate training, collaborate with departments, and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team competency, with the authority to approve training content.

For this job you will need:
- Degree in Mechanical/ Instrumentation Engineering with min 4-6 years of consecutive experience in valve industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with major valve OEMs in Application/ Inside Sales role
- Inside Sales experience with Actuators and control accessory OEMs
- Experience in handling Middle East & Africa customers
