The purpose of the Welding Engineer is to ensure that the quality of the welds performed at RTR and RTR suppliers meets the requirements specified in drawings and standards by actively engaging in developing and maintaining the quality system for welding and required documents supporting that system.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Ensure that welding is performed and adheres to applicable standards such as EN/ISO, ASME and PED.
- Develop and maintain routines for quality assurance and qualification of welding personnel at RTR as per welding standards.
- Develop and maintain manuals, instructions, inspection and test plans and communicate to the organization.
- Ensure that welding procedures are followed, verified by audit tests
- Ensure that test plans are followed and that third party approvals is acquired as needed
- Engage in qualification of new welding and materials requirements in development projects and customer projects.
- Support other Emerson sites in welding and material questions
- Approve supplier welding procedures as per RTR requirements and customer specifications
- Review of customer specifications to support customer projects with material and welding related questions
- Auditing of welding suppliers to make sure they meet the set requirements as per appropriate level of ISO 3834
- Develop and maintain the ISO 3834-2 quality system for RTR/Emerson
- Support investments in new system support and welding equipment
- To successfully carry out the responsibilities described above the Welding Engineer has the following authorities:
- Sign WPS and welding documents on behalf of RTR
- Approve welding requirements on drawings as per design codes and RTR requirements
- Set production holds on parts not meeting the set drawings and/or specification for welding
- Set production holds if procedures are not followed
- Approve supplier welding procedure as per RTR requirements

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Technical education at high school level or higher.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in providing Welding Engineering support in a manufacturing setting;
- Broad knowledge of standards and regulations within the appointed functional areas
- Good knowledge in manufacturing processes within the appointed functional areas
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) and Swedish
- Good knowledge of relevant tools such as MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project and AutoCad
- Experience of manual, mechanized and orbital TIG welding of stainless steel
- Experience of laser welding of stainless steels, nickel alloys and thin materials is a plus
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Degree in Materials Science or Metallurgy (Bachelor’s or Master’s level)
- International Welding engineer (IWE) or International Welding Technologist (EWT) certification
- Experience in implementing and supporting Lean Manufacturing practices
- Experience with risk analysis, supplier capability assessments, and qualification of new technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills.
