The Buyer II plays a critical role in supporting supply chain operations by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services required to meet business and production needs. This position is responsible for managing supplier relationships, executing purchasing activities in alignment with MRP recommendations, and maintaining data accuracy within ERP systems. The role contributes directly to operational continuity, inventory optimization, and overall business performance, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Logistics.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Purchasing & Order Management

  • Execute order recommendations generated by MRP, reviewing and releasing purchase orders in alignment with stock rotation objectives and required delivery dates.
  • Create, issue, maintain, and expedite purchase orders for assigned requisitions, including drop-ship orders.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to mitigate potential delays.
  • Review supplier order acknowledgements and update confirmed delivery dates in the ERP system within defined timeframes.
  • Monitor ASCP and MRP exception messages (e.g., Pull-In, Push-Out, Compression Days, Cancellations) to ensure material availability without generating excess inventory.

Supplier Management & Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers to support delivery performance, quality, and service expectations.
  • Communicate supplier-related issues to the Sourcing team to support corrective actions and supplier development initiatives.
  • Update supplier master data and contact information in the ERP system as required.

Inventory & Production Support

  • Ensure material availability to support production flow in accordance with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Analyze potential supply risks related to shortages, delays, or capacity constraints, and coordinate mitigation actions with internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate availability issues and implement corrective actions to support business continuity.

Data Integrity & Systems

  • Enter and maintain accurate item, order, and supplier data within the ERP system.
  • Update item attributes and relevant master data when changes occur to ensure data integrity and planning accuracy.

Financial & Compliance Support

  • Review invoice discrepancies related to price or quantity and coordinate with Finance to resolve issues and enable timely supplier payment.
  • Support import/export and Incoterms-related activities in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and multi-country teams to resolve issues with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Work independently while also contributing positively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Production Scheduling, or Supply Chain Planning.
  • 2 years of experience in projects.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with Oracle ERP, SAP or JDE systems.
  • Solid knowledge of MRP, capacity planning, and S&OP processes.
  • Basic understanding of engineering specifications, manufacturing processes, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Intermediate English level.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving capabilities in a dynamic environment.
  • APICS / CPM certification (preferred).
  • Experience in Lean or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Intermediate Portugues level.
  • Knowledge of Import/Export regulations and Incoterms
