Staff Mechanical Engineer

A Mechanical Engineer at NI ensures that a design meets its technical specifications, business goals, and customer needs. You will design a variety of different products, including assemblies, enclosures, internal parts, and accessories for test and measurement hardware.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Create/design/model/prototype electronics packaging solutions for NI products.
Select and approve materials, components, and mechanical hardware.
Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing.
Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing.
Conduct tolerance stack-up, thermal and structural analyses of products.
Conduct verification and validation testing for the product.
Provide support to the manufacturing team throughout production.
Support purchasing to ensure quality delivery of all mechanical parts.
Become a leading technical resource on electronics packaging technology.
Position Requirements:
B.S. or MS in mechanical engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design
Creative design skills
Good understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes

Ideal candidates will also have:
Knowledge of CAD/CAE packages: CREO, SolidWorks, etc.
Experience in metal and plastic materials processing is a plus
Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
English Language Competency and effective communication skills
