Job Summary
Under the moderate supervision of the Global EMS Category Manager, the Senior Strategic Procurement Engineer is responsible for executing strategies and managing a supply network which will support the Business Units’ operational goals related to customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial performance.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Execute World Area sourcing strategies that achieve defined supply chain objectives and prepare and present the strategies at periodic Supply Chain Management reviews. Collaborate with the Global EMS Category Manager.
Stay current with overall market conditions both from a supply base and component material perspective. Understand all major cost drivers for the EMS Category.
Identify and drive projects to meet Savings / Cost Reduction Targets.
Perform detailed cost modeling, analysis, and evaluations to support informed sourcing decisions, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
Supplier selection with responsibility for development, qualification, and approval of all assigned suppliers.
Assess supplier capabilities, perform cost benefit analysis, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.
Monitor and report on all key performance indicators with responsibility for ensuring suppliers meet the minimum performance requirements. Phase out non-performing suppliers.
Lead E-Sourcing events including spend analysis, RFQ strategy, supplier selection, bid analysis, award strategy, and implementation.
Manage the strategic business relationship with key preferred suppliers including periodic performance reviews.
Contract negotiation, administration, and compliance which meet Emerson standards including provisions for price, delivery, payment terms, and performance metrics.
Management of profit contribution, trade working capital, and capital spending.
Manages supply chain reliability with a focus on capacity, tooling life cycle management, material availability, supply risk assessment, and trade compliance.
Collaborate on new supplier onboarding activities, including First Article Inspection (FAI) development and PPAP execution, by defining project scope, qualification plans, and approval milestones.
Drive cross‑functional alignment on data packages, test strategies, certification requirements, and ramp‑up plans to enable seamless and timely production transitions.

For This Role, You Will Need:
Business or technical degree required (IE, ME, EE, BA, BS), MBA a plus
Seven years + of progressive Supply Chain experience
Strategic procurement & internal purchasing experience
Experience managing PCBAs, Motors, Cable Harness, and other electronic equipment
Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings
Must be willing to travel (15%) and possess skills to facilitate communications and progress initiatives while traveling.
