Calculation Engineer
Emerson
- Execution of calculations according to order-specific requirements in cooperation with the product and design engineers at different Emerson NBU locations and the NBU Global Calculation team.
- Analytical calculations and/or finite element analysis to demonstrate compliance of nuclear valves with the order-relevant nuclear codes and standards (e.g. RCC-M, ASME, EN-standards).
- Generation of technical documents (eg. Calculation-notes, justifications for selected calculation approaches, material property evaluations) and general support for compiling the nuclear documents-for-approval file under consideration of the customer requirements and standards.
- Extract calculation relevant dimensions and tolerances from 3D models and drawings (CAD system Solid Works).
- Preparation of other technical documents within the project-specific scope.
- Regular communication, cooperation and coordination with the different global Emerson NBU locations.

- University degree in mechanical engineering or Bachelor Professional of Engineering
- Knowledge of finite element software (ideally ANSYS) and one of the following CAD programs would be an advantage (SolidWorks, Inventor)
- Careful and conscientious working
- Experience with ERB systems
- Excellent written and spoken English (min. language level B2)
- Ideally experience with the design of pressure vessel components and its calculation rules
- Independent and team-oriented way of working, high motivation and high degree of flexibility
- Knowledge of programming languages would be a plus (Python, Excel VBA)
- MS Office applications proficiency is a prerequisite
- Preferably additional experience in German or French as a second foreign language

The calculation engineer will be responsible for calculation of nuclear valves and valve components in cooperation with the product and design engineers at different engineering sites of the NBU (Nuclear Business Unit). This includes valve calculations according to the relevant nuclear codes and standards as well as the creation of calculation reports. The Calculation engineer will be a key member of the SNC, Szekesfehervar Nuclear Center.
