Lifecycle Service Proposal Engineer III (PE III) is responsible for supporting advanced (Tier 2+, LTSA and multi-BU spare parts) quotation for Parts and Service proposal. The PE II ensures that both the technical and commercial requirement of the proposal complies with the customer requirements, work scopes and applications. The Proposal Engineer III is responsible for training of new Proposal Engineers as well as for developing and managing training materials. As needed, PE II supports proposal creation of basic (T0 and T1) quotation and provides backup support of order entry.
The objective of the PE III position is to help optimize our quote to cash service levels by offering timely and quality support to our internal and external customers.
Quote Processing and Management:
Receive and process customer requests for advance quotes that include T2+, LTSA and multi-BU spare parts.
Accurately upload request for quote/proposals in the business systems.
Using the established standards, check that all information supplied by the customer is correct and complete to ensure the customer receives the quote/proposal they need and at the time they need it.
Review quotes for technical conformance as in valid model options, configuration ranges, documentation options and device compatibility.
Accurately perform sizing and enter quote/proposals in the business systems. Send quote and other related documentation to the internal/external customers, as required.
Work directly with service technicians and/or service support team to gather information required to resolve quote issues or to collect missing information at the data entry stage.
As required, coordinate with other departments/groups, personnel, and technical subject matter experts to have them review and validate the technical requirements of the customer’s request for quotation.
Perform quote follow up with customer to ensure receipt of proposal, address any questions that they might have and obtain information on purchase order placement.
Approve spare parts quotations for the proposal team.
Maintain updated customer information in business systems and other databases. Collect and save needed documentation to ensure compliance with Emerson record retention and documentation procedures.
Process, Systems & Tools:
Maintain proficiency and utilize all of business systems required to enter and process quotes.
Maintain accurate records of all activities related to quotes from receipt of the request for quotation (RFQ) to process completion. Understand and implement all aspects of Emerson document retention procedures.
Understand and consistently apply commercial policies and business practices related to quote entry process.
Ensure compliance with import/export, contract, and government requirements. Screen quotes for compliance with Emerson terms and conditions, agreements, and standards.
Job Knowledge & Teamwork:
Understand basics of Emerson products, model numbers, and price list.
Understand and follow established processes in accurate data entry and process hand-off.
Continually enhance knowledge of Emerson products, applications and industries served.
Provide backup support to other Proposal Engineers and Order Management team to maintain appropriate quote and order service levels.
Provide consulting support to Order Management when processing an order.
Perform other duties as required.
Training and Development:
Conducts product, process, and tools training to new hires.
Under general direction, helps develop and maintain training documents and work instructions.
Identifies and conducts refresher training as needed.
Improve and update current process, documents and tools following our Continuous Improvement Project (CIP) teams.
Bachelor’s degree: Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or any other engineering related fields.
2 to 3 Years of Customer service, data entry experience, or other related experience. 0 to 1-year customer service experience within the Flow/Emerson organization.
2 to 3 Years of experience in Proposal, Quotation , Project Manager.
Solid keyboard skills and a strong proficiency for using Windows & MS Office applications is a must.
Portugueses Proficiency (Written & Oral) Level, minimum must be B2+.
English Proficiency (Written & Oral) Level, minimum must be B1 (Intermediate).
2 to 3 Years of Customer service, data entry experience, or work experience associated with selling or supporting a technical product where there was a business-to-business relationship.
Experience as a member of a fast paced, customer-centric company where there was a spirit of teamwork between peers and with internal customers.
English Proficiency (Written & Oral) Level, minimum must be B-2 (Upper Intermediate). Must demonstrate strong communication skills and good level of written and spoken English.

Under some supervision, individual must communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external customers via phone, email, and other available tools, utilize problem solving and decision-making skills and maintain attention to detail in a high stress, working environment.
Solid prioritizing and organizational skills along with being a self-starter.
Must be able to work well in a close team setting.
Aptitude for technical topics is a plus.
