The Material Planning Analyst is a part of Emerson's Control Systems and Software (CSS) business group, which is a $3B industry leader in the process automation industry. This role will work primarily with the business unit, Power & Water Solutions (PWS), and can be based in Knoxville, TN or Pittsburgh, PA.
In this position, you will play a key role in supporting material availability, supplier coordination, and forecast optimization. This role contributes directly to ensuring smooth operations across a dynamic and fast‑paced environment!
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Develop effective forecasts by gathering and analyzing data to establish historical trends and incorporate predictive inputs from cross-functional areas to balance business needs.
Create key supplier forecasts to support demand plans, optimize inventory, and align with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with supply chain and key suppliers to establish and maintain supplier stocking programs to improve delivery flexibility in support of our dynamic business needs.
- Propose and implement solutions to improve forecast accuracy.
- Manage forecasts to support new product introductions and transitions and disposition of material driven by engineering change requests.
- Establish the proper planning methods to support a Plan For Every Part (PFEP) and maintain safety stock levels, min-max and other part parameters as needed using industry best practices to achieve optimal inventory levels.
- Prepare and maintain management reports as needed.
- Expand knowledge of industry best practices and the Control Systems and Software business to be a subject matter expert that can be an advocate to drive material management decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
- 2 years minimum experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence stakeholders
- Analytical mind with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in the English Language
- Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
- Knowledge of Oracle MRP
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Supply Chain industry certification a plus (CPIM, CSCP, etc.)
