If you are a Manufacturing Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow and make an impact, Emerson has an exciting opportunity supporting our Professional Tools business. Based at our Elyria, Ohio location, this role focuses on developing and improving manufacturing processes used to machine, fabricate, and assemble components and finished products. You will play a key role in solving manufacturing challenges, implementing new products and engineering changes, and driving improvements in cost, quality, safety, and value delivered to our customers.


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Use CAD/CAM systems to design fixtures, tooling, and CNC machining programs.
  • Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing methods to reduce cost and strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Research new manufacturing technologies and recommend capital improvement projects.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Participate in design reviews with product development and design teams to ensure efficient, capable, and scalable production methods.
  • Collaborate with vendors to define product specifications, source equipment, materials, and components, and evaluate them against quality and performance standards.
  • Estimate production times, staffing needs, and related costs to support management decision‑making.
  • Partner with management, design engineering, and cross‑functional teams on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and process improvements.
  • Implement engineering changes and new product introductions into the manufacturing system in a timely and effective manner.
  • Apply statistical methods to assess and improve manufacturing process capability.
  • Develop clear work instructions and tooling documentation to support production teams.
  • Support production departments by troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or university; or five to ten (5–10) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience programming CNC machines using G and M codes, as well as experience with CNC programming software such as Mastercam.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience supporting machining, fabrication, and assembly operations in a high‑mix manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and capital equipment projects.
