In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation and applicable regulations, including OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act (FMA), Environmental Quality Act (EQA), and relevant DOSH guidelines, ICOPs, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external authorities such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and local agencies during inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain statutory reports, licenses, permits, and regulatory notifications in a timely manner.
  • Manage EHS risks related to semiconductor and Test & Measurement operations, including hazardous chemicals, specialty gas systems, cleanroom activities, wastewater and STP systems.
  • Support safe tool installation, commissioning, decommissioning, and facility expansion projects by reviewing EHS risks and controls.
  • Review and approve Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Job Safety and Environment Analysis (JSEA), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) activities, including confined space and hot work.
  • Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) and Environmental Aspect and Impact Assessments (EAIA).
  • Lead or support investigations related to incidents, near misses, chemical spills, and emergencies, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance indicators, trends, and action closure to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage environmental programs covering scheduled waste, recycling, air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, and spill prevention.
  • Support sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction.
  • Deliver EHS training, inductions, and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Promote a strong EHS culture through engagement activities such as audits, safety campaigns, and toolbox talks.
  • Support and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and participate in internal, external, customer, and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) audits.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering or technical discipline.
  • 2-5 years of relevant EHS experiences
  • Working knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience supporting EHS programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, investigations, and EHS training with confidence and clarity.
  • Effective communication skills to engage employees, contractors, and external authorities.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, chemical, or high‑tech manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals, specialty gas systems, cleanroom operations, or facility expansion projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and RBA audit requirements.
  • Experience supporting environmental sustainability initiatives and waste management programs.

The EHS Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Environment, Health, and Safety programs within PEN/T&M manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with Malaysian legal requirements, corporate standards, and international EHS management systems (ISO14001 & ISO45001), while supporting safe operations involving chemicals, gases, high-voltage equipment, cleanrooms, and hazardous processes unique to semiconductor manufacturing.
