In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

1. Opportunity Identification & Creation

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for Flow Measurement Products in Malaysia.
  • Collaborate with the FMP team to create strategic pursuits and drive growth initiatives.

2. Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary technical counterpart for customer subject matter experts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across customer organizations.
  • Lead technical discussions, deliver presentations, and demonstrate how Emerson solutions solve customer challenges.

3. Product Expertise & Positioning

  • Maintain deep knowledge of Emerson’s flow measurement portfolio and its applications.
  • Ensure effective product positioning and specification in customer AVL.

4. Market Research & Analysis

  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Analyze customer needs to inform product development and marketing strategies.

5. Sales Strategy & Forecasting

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve growth targets for Flow Products.
  • Prepare monthly bookings forecasts and monitor performance against budget.
  • Work with all Emerson business units to maximize opportunities within the region.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with account managers, product development, marketing, and customer support teams to align offerings with market demand.
  • Support strategic plans for key accounts and opportunities.

7. Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence

Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.

Who You Are:
  • Proven experience in business development and sales, preferably in automation or industrial solutions.
  • Strong sales management background with a track record of success in selling technical products.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Results-driven mindset with resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to thrive in uncertainty and complexity.
  • Willingness to travel within Malaysia.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Reports directly to Measurement Solutions Business Leader for Malaysia.
  • Works closely with regional and global FMP teams to align strategies and execution.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management.
  • Experience in managing diverse teams and supervising organizational functions is an added advantage.
  • Direct reporting experience to senior leadership and ability to influence strategic decisions.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Flow Measurement Products (FMP) is responsible for driving growth in Malaysia by identifying, creating, and pursuing new business opportunities within the assigned product portfolio. This role requires deep technical expertise in flow measurement solutions and the ability to position Emerson’s value proposition to address customer needs. The BDM will engage with key decision-makers and technical experts within customer organizations, lead opportunity pursuits, and ensure Emerson products are specified in customer AVL (Approved Vendor List). The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance offerings, deliver customer satisfaction, and achieve business objectives.
