The Engineering Support Assistant Intern will provide operational and administrative support to engineering teams by assisting with part procurement, coordination with manufacturing teams, and maintenance of engineering documentation. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail‑oriented student who is eager to gain hands‑on exposure in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly support part procurement requests to meet engineering and project needs.
- Identify, track, and resolve part availability issues by closely coordinating with procurement teams.
- Maintain clear and timely communication to ensure uninterrupted project execution.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and planning teams to support prototype builds and manufacturing activities.
- Create new part numbers and symbols for engineering designs.
- Create, update, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) in Agile.
- Track, follow up, and document the status and outcomes of assigned tasks to closure.
- Adhere to established processes and proactively escalate identified process gaps or issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Business, Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 months internship experience (academic internship acceptable).
- CGPA of 3.0 or above.
- Internship availability must be starting in 2026.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated initiative, persistence, and problem‑solving ability.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player across cross‑functional groups.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with BOM management systems or Agile PLM (an advantage).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.

Engineers in our group create a variety of hardware products and accessories that are used to build high performance systems for a variety of industries, including automotive research and manufacturing production testing. An ESA is a member of that product development team and primarily works with teams from R&D engineering, manufacturing, procurement and planning teams. Responsibilities include solving logistical problems related to initial prototyping all the way through ramping to volume production of new designs and periodic sustaining of existing product designs.
