Job Summary
If you are a engineering or computer science student looking for an internship opportunity to work with the global Emerson Systems and Software organization, this is a stimulating opportunity for you! As the AI Engineer Intern, you will support a proof‑of‑concept initiative focused on automation and configurator optimization within PropBot. You will collaborate with proposal engineers, interns, and regional teams to translate proposal requirements into structured, automation‑ready solutions while gaining hands‑on exposure to AI‑enabled process improvement.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Supporting the redesign and refinement of the LCS Configurator within PropBot to better align with proposal workflows and terminology.
Analyzing existing configurator fields to identify gaps, redundancies, and misalignments affecting proposal generation.
Updating required fields, options, and structures to enable accurate, standardized, and automation‑ready proposal inputs.
Reviewing and improving basic configurator logic, including mandatory fields, dependencies, default values, and validation checks.
Collaborating with proposal engineers and fellow interns to understand real‑world LCS proposal activities and requirements.
Testing configurator outputs to ensure consistency, data accuracy, and suitability for conversion into formal proposal documents.
Documenting project changes, design decisions, challenges, and lessons learned to support future enhancements and knowledge sharing.

For This Role, You Will Need:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, data science, or an equivalent field.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 600 hours; both required and voluntary interns are welcome.
Ability to begin the internship on May/June 2026.
Interest in automation, AI‑enabled tools, or proposal and process optimization.
Ability to analyze workflows and translate business requirements into structured data or system configurations.
Comfort working with documentation, structured inputs, and iterative testing.
Willingness to collaborate with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Consistent adherence to confidentiality practices when handling proprietary materials.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience working with Markdown‑ or HTML‑based content.
- Exposure to Microsoft Power Apps or other low-code platforms for building forms, workflows, or automation solutions.an
- Exposure to AI concepts such as chunking, grounding, vectorization, or prompt engineering.
- Experience in technical writing, content migration, or web content management.
- Curiosity about developing solutions using existing tools and structured content processes.
