- Follows procedures for assembling products, handling products, equipment and materials per the production department and company's quality system procedures.
- Reviews shop operations packets, Bills-of-Materials, and engineering drawings to ensure that incoming materials to be assembled are correct as to specified quantity/quality/part number.
- Based on production specifications and/or Team Leader’s instructions, selects parts, tools, and equipment required for quality mechanical assembly production.
- Inspects and dimensionally checks production to ensure assembled output meets requirements.
- Utilizes properly calibrated precision measuring instruments when performing inspections. Informs the Team Leader of any operating, material, or parts condition that would interfere with production quality or quantity.
- Performs routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all tools and equipment utilized.
- Segregates and periodically disposes of scrap and recycled material into approved collection containers.
- Operates appropriate equipment required to move materials into, around, or out of the department.
- Maintains an accurate record of all work performed in the appropriate company format.
- Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities, as well as safety regulations, policies and procedures.
