Do you have a strong interest in mechanics/hydraulics, and would you like to work with technological tasks in a key role that significantly contributes to ensuring that our products operate reliably for customers at sea?

For Emerson Marine Solutions in Næstved, we are looking for a committed engineer/technician to, among other things, maintain our hydraulic equipment and support internal functions such as customer support, sourcing, assembly etc. on daily basis. In this role, you will also perform tests on hydraulic and electro-hydraulic units in Emerson’s own test laboratory. Together with your colleagues, you will get deeply involved in complex trouble handling and help manage and maintain solutions that keep Emerson positioned as a leading actuator supplier in the marine market.

The facility in Næstved is part of a business unit within the large American corporation Emerson. It employs approximately 550 people worldwide (220 of them in Denmark), spread out across production facilities and service offices in different countries (including, South Korea, China, Greece, Dubai, Singapore and Turkey). The Marine Solutions business unit is a market leader in the marine industry and offers integrated control and monitoring systems, remote valve control, measurement of cargo and ballast tanks, as well as flow systems for all types of ships and offshore units. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Maintenance and renewal of documentation, drawings and BOM for advanced solutions involving hydraulic functions and electronic controls
  • Technical support for other departments – service, procurement, production, etc.
  • Type approvals with classification societies (renewals)
  • Participation in development projects to a limited extent
  • Development of test equipment for production

You will become part a department with seven colleagues who have experience in hydraulics, electrical systems, automation, and technical documentation. They are part of the Engineering & Development and Solution Management function, consisting of approximately 20 people. The department is characterized by a very high level of technical expertise, ensuring close support and sparring at all times, and everyone looks forward to welcoming a new colleague.

You have a strong analytical mindset. Together with your team, you work dedicatedly and with engagement. You contribute with new ideas and challenge our ways of working in order to ensure we achieve the best possible results.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Background as an engineer or technician (mechanical, automation, marine engineering in particular).
  • 5 years or more experience in mechanical component design or product maintenance.
  • Expertise in mechanical dimensioning, materials behavior, stress calculation etc.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, with experience in explaining technical solutions clearly and effectively.
  • Fluent in both English and Danish.
  • Willingness to work primarily on site (with occasional home-office days once/week).

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience with hydraulics and electro-hydraulic units is an advantage.
  • Openness to travel occasionally to other Emerson sites.
