Position Summary
In this role, you will act as a focal point for customer technical support, including service contracts, projects, and technical solutions. You will advise customers on preventative maintenance and configuration adjustments to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
In this role, you will primarily be supporting services and project team as we work with customers to plan and execute their service requests and projects execution. Performing on site opportunity assessments (Site Survey) and reviewing of all DCS and SIS Software HW & SW configuration requirements and designing and implementing the solutions both in an Offline or Online environment.
Part of this role is to attend as Site Resident Engineer rotation, Preventive Maintenance task and attend to any Site Emergency Calls and meet the required response time
- Performing advanced maintenance tasks in accordance with customer requirements
- Providing recommendations to the customer on product or solution, enhancements, and system health checks
- Performing and leading service projects and taking ownership of customer co-ordination
- Providing resolution of complex technical issues and resolving Customer disruptions
- Providing technical expertise for products and services to support Customers, Emerson operation teams and Sales / Proposal teams.
- Perform on-site services such as Modification works (eMOCs), Troubleshooting, support Emergency On-call, Site Evaluation Services and Basic to Advanced Cybersecurity Assessment.
- Mentoring Service Engineers and Service Technicians
- Leading a team of service engineers as required and lead assigned installed-base Maintenance executions.
- Recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson's Company Policy and Procedures
- Finish all assigned Technical Trainings and Safety Trainings for Personal Development on priority-basis and to secure Professional to Expert Certifications.
- Be aware about the latest updates, Knowledge base article(KBAs) and new features in DeltaV control system and Cybersecurity products.
- Provide technical expertise for products and services to support customers in diagnostics and troubleshooting of complex technical issues escalating / collaborating with Emerson Global Service Center (GSC) and Product Engineering to help resolve product issues.
- Assist in closing out all outstanding calls of Installed base in Qatar/Kuwait under Emerson Global Support Center.
- Proactively identify Service / Product opportunities and serve as Sales Ambassador on site and communicates sales leads to Sales Team.
- Perform and lead service projects and take ownership for lead client support activities such as site survey, feed study, site installation, start up and commissioning services and customer trainings.
- Develop various design documentation including system architecture, functional design specifications, Software design Specifications, Method Statements, in accordance with project requirements.
- Perform customer FAT and SAT, Plant Start-up and Commissioning and Upgrade.
- Utilize SMS, Guardian website, SureService Portal and standard Services Apps.
- Aligning with all Emerson requirements for business processes including timesheets, site visit reports, Method Statement, Job Safety Analysis, Incident Reporting, and all other documentation in line with Emerson internal procedures.
- Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (including control engineering, computer engineering, Instrumentation, or electronics, Electrical, etc.) from an accredited University or College
- Validated experience in designing and implementing Industrial control systems installation with Emerson’s DeltaV system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills fluent in English.
- Experience in DCS / PLC programming: Creation of Customized Function blocks, Sequences, Calculations and Equations implementation, logical relations, Process control, Alarm Management, and Process Graphics Development.
- Experience in Modbus serial / OPC Communications / PI and Bus Technologies (Fieldbus, Profibus, AS-i bus, DeviceNet).
- Experience with On-site implementation of DeltaV / Cybersecurity Projects, testing and commissioning and service execution.
- Experience in Construction and site with exposure to loop checking, installation and problem solving of transmitters, pressure switches, level switches, control valves, F&G detectors, flow meters and motorized valves.
- A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organizational awareness
- Knowledgeable in Programming Languages is a plus (Visual Basic, C++, Java, etc.)
- Willingness to travel 25-40% (International).
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Travel and work in customer sites required with occasional and international travel
- The ability to obtain a work visa/residence permit in Qatar and could pass the UPDA Exam for Engineers.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Min. 11 years’ experience in DeltaV DCS / SIS installation and DeltaV Cybersecurity implementation both Onshore / Offshore O&G.
- This position requires in-depth knowledge and experience of automation and control systems in process industries, with proven years of hands-on experiences in Emerson-related products.
- Experience in Cybersecurity implementation in Industrial Control systems (McAfee AV, Whitelisting, SIEM/NSM) is an advantage.
- Knowledgeable in Information and Operational Technology (IT/OT) with Certified Networking skills (Switches / Routers), Firewall, Wireless Technology.
- Holder of Associate level certification for all services the individual is performing at site and a Professional level certificate in at least one field of expertise in Emerson GLC.
- Worked before on project management, scheduling, engineering, procurement, team coordination and sales support.
- Multidiscipline knowledge (Customer side and Emerson full portfolio)
- Holds T-BOSIET or HUET certificate and/or must be able to pass the Offshore Trainings and Offshore Medical requirements.
- Enrolled on the register of Engineers in the State of Qatar or Chartered Engineer.
- Driver’s License is a must or able to pass the Driver’s licensing exam in Qatar.
- Demonstrate an effective level of written and spoken communication skills in the English language
