As the Quality Engineer in Cluj-Napoca, you will act as the key quality representative for assigned European Flow Metering projects, ensuring that all quality requirements are consistently applied throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and external inspectors to support successful project delivery, while maintaining compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer-specific standards. This role combines technical expertise with project coordination and plays a critical role in preventing, identifying, and resolving quality-related issues.

Act as the main quality point of contact for projects, from kick-off through delivery and close-out
Plan, coordinate, and oversee inspections and testing activities in line with project requirements
Support key quality processes such as incoming and outgoing inspections, material traceability, welding reviews, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Collaborate with suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards
Identify risks, support resolution of quality issues, and escalate concerns when necessary
Review and approve manufacturing and quality documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Coordinate certification processes with external stakeholders such as Third-Party Inspectors and Notified Bodies
Support customer audits, inspections, and quality reviews
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, nonconformance management, and quality system enhancements
Participate in internal and external audits and support quality reporting and performance tracking
You drive results by consistently delivering high-quality outcomes and meeting project commitments. You build strong partnerships by collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders and maintaining a clear focus on customer needs. You communicate effectively, ensuring that complex information is clearly understood by different audiences. You navigate complexity with confidence, making sound decisions even in challenging or ambiguous situations.
A degree in an engineering or technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, inspection, supplier quality, or project execution environments. Practical exposure to workshop, fabrication, testing, or inspection activities is highly desirable
Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across projects and disciplines
Understanding of quality processes, inspection activities, and technical documentation
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing records
Strong communication skills in English
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Frequent travel throughout Europe to supplier facilities, fabrication workshops, FAT locations, and customer sites (up to 50% or more depending on project demands)
Experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, or EPC projects
Knowledge of pressure equipment requirements and certification processes
Familiarity with welding, NDT, or coating inspection practices
Experience working with regulatory frameworks such as PED and Notified Bodies
Relevant technical certifications in welding, inspection, or quality
