If you are an Application Developer looking to grow your career building enterprise-grade product and asset management platforms, this role offers the opportunity to work on MyAssets, Field Device Data Hub (FDDH), and product documentation APIs for a global automation technology leader. Working alongside a Senior Developer, you will contribute to Python FastAPI backend services, React front-end interfaces, and REST API integrations, including third-party documentation vendor connections that support Emerson's global product information ecosystem.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Build and maintain Python FastAPI backend services and REST APIs supporting MyAssets, FDDH, and product documentation platforms under the guidance of the Senior Developer.
- Develop and maintain React.js front-end components, including state management, responsive UI, and integration with FastAPI backend services for product and asset management workflows.
- Write and maintain PostgreSQL queries, support schema updates, and assist with data migrations for platform databases.
- Assist with REST API integrations to third-party documentation platforms (Zoomin and similar) by consuming APIs, handling data transformation, and supporting publication workflows.
- Apply SDLC practices throughout feature delivery and design, develop, test, and support production releases across the portfolio.
- Debug and resolve issues across FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and React layers and escalate complex root causes to the Senior Developer with clear analysis.
- Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code following team standards, participate actively in code reviews, and maintain technical documentation for owned features, including API endpoint notes, data flow descriptions, and test cases.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and System Analysts to understand requirements and deliver quality solutions on time.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and CI/CD delivery practices using Azure DevOps.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of software development experience with hands-on delivery in Python and React in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in building REST API services using FastAPI, including endpoint definition, Pydantic models, request/response handling, and basic async patterns.
- Solid experience building React components with modern JavaScript (ES6+), state management (Redux or Context API), and integration with REST API backends.
- Experience consuming and building REST APIs, understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, JSON payloads, and basic authentication patterns (JWT or API key).
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including writing queries, basic schema understanding, and supporting data operations in a relational database environment.
- Familiarity with Git version control, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools, and sprint-based delivery and strong English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart
- Experience integrating with third-party SaaS platforms or documentation tool APIs (Zoomin, Paligo, or similar) via REST.
- Familiarity with product information, asset management, or documentation delivery platforms.
- Exposure to asynchronous patterns in Python, including FastAPI Background Tasks, Celery, or task queuing basics.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as PyTest for backend, Jest or React Testing Library for frontend.
- Basic familiarity with Docker for local development environments.
- Experience working in international, cross-time zone Agile delivery teams.
