We're seeking an Installation Design Engineer to join our Thermal Power Solutions team in Cranberry Township, PA. In this role, you'll help lead the modernization of control systems for power generation and renewable energy facilities across North America. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, work directly with customers, and contribute to high-impact projects that improve reliability, efficiency, and operational performance for essential industries.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
- Design and develop electrical control system solutions that enhance the reliability, safety, and performance of customer operations.
- Create and revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation design packages for large-scale automation projects.
- Perform field assessments, wire audits, and system verification activities to support retrofit and modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop control system architectures and I/O designs.
- Support customer installations through startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for contractors during project installation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
- Partner with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Experience in Electrical design and migration
- Knowledge of instrumentation signal varieties and field wiring
- Experience with electrical hardware selection and layout
- AutoCAD or similar experience and expertise
- Comfortable traveling up to 30%
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
- Familiarity with Ovation, WDPF, and other DCS and PLC manufacturers I/O and cabinet layouts.
- Construction and installation management experience.

As part of Emerson Power & Water Solutions business, you will be based in our new headquarters, located in Cranberry Township, PA, and will join a diverse team of engineers who provides fully engineered control system solutions for power generation customers in North America. The team is part of the Thermal Power Solutions projects group and focuses on retrofits of existing plant control systems in the thermal power plant generation industry as well as the renewables industry.
