The Product Manager (Strategic Initiatives) will be key in designing and driving strategic product and marketing initiatives for both TOV and CBL SBUs. This role will need to ensure that the product roadmap is aligned with and fulfills enterprise objectives and has ownership of implementing all product roadmap initiatives such as (but not limited to) NPD, product enhancements and portfolio restructuring. Additionally, this covers ownership of supporting the Emerson planning process from the SBU perspective and other investigations such as competitor assessments, margin and GP analysis and regional pricing analysis. This requires coordination with multiple functions with the Global ISV organization.
- Development, execution and communication of product portfolio roadmap and associated programs including managing and driving NPD process through all Stage/Gate process from Gate 0 to Gate 7
- Global product platforming and product positioning
- Implement routine portfolio review (at least once a year) to determine opportunities for rationalization and obsolescence of products, in accordance with established Isolation Valve BU Product Lifecycle procedures
- Implement routine price reviews to identify price opportunities and implement global and regional strategies (using Power & Risk and other Emerson tools)
- Ownership of investigations such as financials (pricing, margins, backlog), market (new industry penetrations, existing industry consolidations), competitor deepdive etc. as needed
- Support Product management leadership in Emerson planning process submissions.
- Design and execute strategic product and marketing initiatives aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Own and drive implementation of the product roadmap, including new product development, portfolio optimization, and product enhancements.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment of product strategies across TOV and CBL SBUs.
- Support the Emerson planning process from an SBU perspective, contributing insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Conduct competitor assessments, margin analysis, and gross profit evaluations to inform strategic decisions.
- Perform regional pricing analysis and provide actionable recommendations to improve competitiveness and profitability.
- Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams, including the Global ISV organization, to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Experience in product management, strategic initiatives, or a related function.
- Strong analytical capability with experience in market analysis, pricing, and financial evaluation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution across complex, cross-functional environments.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or MBA or equivalent through experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product management or a similar role of business development
- Solid understanding of valve industry products and applications
- Must be able to travel 25% of the time
- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or technology-driven environments.
- Exposure to global business operations or collaboration with international teams.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management and portfolio strategy.
- Understanding of enterprise planning processes and business strategy development.
- Ability to leverage data and digital tools to support decision-making.
Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The total compensation salary range for this role is 45.000 to 82.000 EUR annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
